Leighty honored for 50 years

Platteville firefighter Robert Leighty was honored by the City of Platteville and the state Assembly for his 50 years of service to the Fire Department. Leighty became a firefighter April 26, 1965. His 50 years of service included roles as driver, captain,  assistant chief and chief. According to the state Assembly proclamation Leighty “selfishly committed countless hours to the Platteville Fire Department and has always been an extremely strong advocate for the betterment of the department through advocating for better and safer equipment and the importance of continual training.”
