OMVI charges follow crashes

One person was injured and another cited for drunk driving after a crash on Pine Grove Road in Platteville early Saturday.

A caller told Platteville police around 2 a.m. she had been awakened by a loud noise and could hear “kids crying and a car engine gunning.” 

A car driven by Sarah J. Bruckner, 19, Richland Center, hit two parked vehicles, police said.

Platteville EMS treated Bruckner and her passenger, Taylor Ann Elliott, 18, Muscoda, at the scene; they refused transport. Platteville firefighters, Grant County sheriff’s deputies and UW–Platteville police also assisted at the scene.

Bruckner was arrested for drunk driving and operating with prohibited alcohol concentration, and cited for minor transporting intoxicants in a motor vehicle and  inattentive driving. Elliott was cited for underage drinking.

Police received two calls about squealing tires in the Pitt Street area around 10:30 p.m., then both heard a crash. Police found a car without headlights on and the driver laying down inside the car.

Joshua A. Carter, 30, Dubuque, was arrested for drunk driving and operating with prohibited alcohol concentration, and cited for operating left of center, hit and run — property adjacent to highway, failure to notify police of an accident, reckless driving — endangering safety, and failure to keep a vehicle under control.

• The driver of a car that hit a stoplight at South Water Street and Pine Street Sept. 4 was arrested for drunk driving.

A Grant County sheriff’s deputy came upon the crash around 1:30 a.m., when the driver then took off on foot. The passenger was treated at the scene by Platteville EMS.

The driver, Mahreana Lynn Patrinos, 26, Madison, was arrested for drunk driving causing injury and cited for operating after suspension.
