A traffic stop for a loud car exhaust turned into four citations early Friday.

Platteville police stopped a car driven by Hunter Lane Johnston, 19, Platteville, in the 100 block of North Bonson Street around 2:10 a.m. When an officer approached the car, people inside the car got out and fled on foot.

Johnston ran north on Fourth Street, but was taken into custody on Third Street, police said.

Johnston was cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, operating with prohibited alcohol content, an ID card violation, and resisting or obstructing an officer.
