POTOSI — Two Potosi people were injured in a crash with a tractor–trailer on U.S. 61 in front of Potosi High School Wednesday evening.

Noah Groom, 15, and his mother, Tara, were taken by Potosi EMS to Grant Regional Health Center for minor injuries, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Noah Groom was driving north on 61 turning left into the PHS parking lot when their car was rear-ended by a tractor–trailer owned by PNB Enterprises of Soap Lake, Wash., and driven by Pavel Babeshkov, 46, College Dale, Tenn., at 8:22 p.m.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Babeshkov didn’t see Groom’s car braking.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the semi and trailer. Babeshkov was cited for inattentive driving.
