Two people from Fennimore were involved in a single-vehicle crash  April 4 on Hwy. 35 south of Mohawk Valley Road in Bergen township.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Todd Slaught, 45, was driving southbound with a passenger, Auden Slaught, 4, when a tree broke in half and landed on top of their vehicle.

No injuries were reported. Auden Slaught was taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.

The Slaughts were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Assisting at the scene were Shelby township police and the Vernon County Highway Department.
