THE TARGETED AREA in a 50-mile radius around Viroqua indicated on this map would be considered the optimal location for hog CAFOs raising pigs for slaughter if the proposed plant is built by Premium Iowa Pork (PIP) at the former Premier Meats site off Highway 14 between Viroqua and Westby. The hog CAFO target area includes all of Vernon, Crawford, LaCrosse, Monroe and Richland counties, as well as portions of adjoining counties.
