Christine Remus, age 70 of Madison, formerly of Darlington, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg. She was born Dec. 1, 1946 in Darlington the daughter of Norman and Leeta (Michaelson) DeMuth. Christine graduated from Darlington High School in 1965 and later went on to attend Madison Business College in Madison. She was united in marriage to Charles E. “Chuck” Remus on Aug. 19, 1969 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. Christine grew up in Darlington where she lived until moving to Madison to attend school and has resided there since.
Christine is survived by her husband Chuck in Monroe; one son: Damian Remus of Hollywood, Calif.; one grandson: Christian Remus; and one special dog: Chloe. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Christine was a past member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. She truly loved dogs and spent much of her time raising and training dogs. She enjoyed spending time reading and spending time with her family and friends. Christine will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St, Darlington) where Rev. Sudhakar Devarapu of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Shullsburg officiated. Burial was in Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation was held Monday, July 3, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Steil-Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
