David R. Slama, age 65, of Mounds View, Minnesota, formerly of Cazenovia, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1949 in Richland Center, Wisconsin, the son of Charles and Margaret (Sebranek) Slama. David was a 1967 graduate of Weston High School. He was a machinist apprentice for two years at Western, Wisconsin, and employed at British Aerospace Electronics Systems at the U.S. Combat Systems site doing Navy contracts for 43½ years, retiring in 2012. His hobbies were classic cars, trucks and tractors. He enjoyed old movies, and country and classic rock music. He was a member of the Minnesota Street Rods car club.

David was preceded in death by his father, Charles.
He is survived by: His mother, Margaret “Margie” Slama of Cazenovia; brother, Darrell (Gloria) Slama of Cazenovia; nieces, Rebecca (John) Schwertfeger of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and their children, MacKenzie, Megan, Johnny and Mason; Rachel (Jason) Greenwood of Cazenovia and their children, Colton and Cameron; along with cousins and other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for David Slama will be conducted at 11 a.m.., Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Germantown with Father Wesley Janowski officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Cazenovia Chapel, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at church.

The Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
