Dennis R. “Denny” Busch, age 65 of Shullsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018 at his home in Shullsburg. He was born on April 2, 1952 in Freeport, Ill., the son of LaVern and Shirley (Polhill) Busch. Denny graduated from Warren High School in Warren, Ill., in 1970. Denny has lived in Shullsburg for 41 years. He enjoyed playing baseball for the American Legion Team and Warren City League. He dedicated more than forty years working for Titan Tires in Freeport.
Denny is survived by two daughters: Sarah Busch of Grantsburg and Jenelle (Tom) Shepherd of Cuba City; one daughter-in-law: Jenn Busch of Fennimore; five grandchildren: Brittany, Craig, and Jacen Busch, Riley and Cassidy Shepherd; one brother: David (Ruth) Busch of Warren; one niece: Heather Busch of Shullsburg; and his “other special family”: the Nolan Family. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather: Morris Pederson; one son: Darryl Busch; and one granddaughter: Michelle Busch.
Denny cherished his family more than anything and the memories they created together. He enjoyed spending time watching his grandkids’ school activities and sporting events and was always very proud of them. Denny loved watching NASCAR, the Wisconsin Badgers, the Chicago Bears, and Milwaukee Brewers and always supported the Shullsburg Miners. He enjoyed watching dirt track racing and playing cards with his family and friends. Denny will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Erickson Funeral Home (235 N. Judgement St., Shullsburg) with Rev. Russell J. Paul of Community Evangelical Free Church in rural Shullsburg officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
