Kevin L. Holverson, age 42 of rural Browntown passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 as a result of a fishing accident in Argyle. He was born Oct. 22, 1973 in Monroe the son of Roy and Muriel (Melland) Holverson. Kevin graduated from Black Hawk High School in 1992. He grew up in the Woodford area. Kevin began farming with his brother Dennis in Wiota Township right after high school.
Kevin is survived by his father: Roy Holverson, one sister: Debra (Leurner) Anderson and one brother: Dennis (Mia) Holverson all of rural Browntown; one niece: Brittany Anderson; two nephews: Chad (Heidi) Anderson and Derek Anderson; three step nephews; two great nieces and one great nephew and his dogs: Maggie and Montana. He is preceded in death by his mother Muriel on January 6, 2006; paternal grandparents: Frank and Alma Holverson; and his maternal grandparents: Victor and Dorothy Melland.
Kevin was a proud member of the Woodford Fire Department and belonged to a bowling team at Leisure Lanes in Monroe. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley. Kevin will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Wiota Lutheran Church (6682 State Road 78, South Wayne) with Rev. Dennis Perger of Jordan Lutheran Church and Rev. Wayne Gregory of Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown co-officiating. Burial was in East Wiota Cemetery. A visitation was held Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
