Melanie R. Lange (Hall), 61 years old of La Valle, Wisconsin, died from leukemia on Nov. 1, 2014, (All Saints Day) at home surrounded by friends and family.

Melanie was born Dec. 1, 1952, in Austin, Minnesota, to Vivian and Raymond Hall.  She graduated from Austin High School in 1971 and married the love of her life on Dec.  18, 1971, and soon after moved to San Diego, California where she gave birth to Misty M. Lange in 1973 and Mandy J. Lange in 1977.  In 1978 the family moved back to the Midwest and called Elroy and La Valle, Wisconsin home for the remainder of her years.  She graduated with an associate’s degree in nursing from Western Wisconsin Technical College in 1982.  She touched many people’s lives while she worked as a volunteer for the Elroy Ambulance team, a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro, Home Health United, Medical Associates Baraboo Medical Clinic, and volunteer at the Safe Harbor Women’s Shelter in Reedsburg and the Mauston Senior Center.

Melanie is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Tom Lange; children, Misty M. Lohrentz (Eric), Mandy J. Radloff (Justin); grandchildren, Owen Radloff, Hayden Lohrentz, Emaline Radloff, and Everett Lohrentz; father, Raymond Hall; siblings, Sherri Sholund, Cora Showers, Richard Cochran, and Dale Cochran; grandma, Louise Hall (102); aunts and uncles, Walter Hall, Charles Hall, James Hall, Dennis Hall, Keith Hall, Karen Carlson, Shirley Pafford, Kay Kaylor, and Doris Lancaster; devoted pet, Riley, and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by mother, Vivian Iverson; in-laws, Beverly and Norbert Lange; and several wonderful friends, family, and patients.

A celebration of Melanie’s life will be provided at Crandall Funeral Home located at 123 Elm Street, Mauston, Wisconsin on Nov.  8, 2014.  Doors will open at 2 p.m. with a ceremonial service, provided by Father Larry Bowens, at 2:30, followed by visitation until 5 p.m.  Following the visitation, friends and family are invited to the Emerald Lounge at the Park Oasis for sandwiches/soup and drinks in Melanie’s honor.  Melanie will be cremated and her ashes will be stored until she can be laid to rest next to her soul mate, Tom Lange, at a later date.
