Myron Earl Wakefield, 90, DeSoto, died on Oct. 5, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Oct. 9, at New Hope United Methodist Church, rural DeSoto. Pastor LaVerne Larson officiated at the service with burial in Walnut Mound Cemetery, Retreat, rural DeSoto. Tom Baker provided the music. Casket bearers were Clifford Seastrom, David Halverson, Jeff Wakefield, Joe Wakefield, Ronald Hanson, and Tony Wangen. Visitation was held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Reetz-Thorson Funeral Home, Viroqua, and again at the church on Sunday prior to the service.
