Olivia Lea Benson Bright, age 13 of Mt. Horeb, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 1, 2018 at UW American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, with family and close friends at her side. She was born December 8, 2004 to Kennon and Tara (Benson) Bright.
Olivia was diagnosed on Jan. 19, 2018 with acute myeloid leukemia and began chemotherapy immediately.  Olivia was a “fighter” a warrior with a continuous smile throughout her treatment. She was a Christian and loved Jesus and enjoyed serving with the babies at Life Church. Olivia was a 7th grader at the Mt. Horeb Middle School where she was in band, volleyball and basketball. She enjoyed art, crafts and especially loved making her own slime. She was a self-taught knitter when spending time in the hospital.  She loved research, how to make something and never quit until she succeeded.  She loved her cat, Fatty, riding her bike and the outdoors with her family and her friends. She was talented in the kitchen making her famous BBQ sauce and cakes.
She is survived by her parents: Kennon and Tara; two sisters: Avery and Camille both at home; two brothers: Jaron and Andrew of Illinois; grandparents: Irving Jr., and Florese Bright of Peoria, Ill., Terry Benson of Darlington; uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by grandfather: Leslie Benson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Life Church, 2770 Brandywein Trail, Mt. Horeb, with Pastor Bob Lee officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Horeb Union Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Ellestad Camacho Funeral Home, 500 N 8th St., Mt. Horeb, and also from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Saturday at the church. 
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorial preferred in memory of Olivia.
