GAME OF THE WEEK (Feb. 8–14)

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Dodgeville (18–2, 8–0, #8 in D3) at Platteville (16–3, 7–1, #6 in D3), Friday, 8:17 p.m.

The premier game of the week in the area is Friday’s Southwest Wisconsin Conference rematch between eighth-ranked Dodgeville and sixth-ranked Platteville. The Dodgers and senior standout Hannah Jones handed the Hillmen their only conference loss of the season on Jan. 5, 82–63. Jones scored 34 points in that game and sophomore Olivia Argall added 31 as the Dodgers converted a whopping 37 of 48 free throw attempts.

Platteville bounced back to win its next seven games before a 61–40 non-conference loss at undefeated Black Hawk (18–0, #1 in Division 5) Tuesday night. The Hillmen must bounce back quickly and protect home court Friday night to earn a share of a third straight SWC title.

Coach Josh Busch’s Dodgers, who have won eight straight games since a 52–50 non-conference loss to Reedsburg, can clinch the outright SWC title with a win.

"We are looking forward to a rematch with Dodgeville Friday," said Platteville head coach Brandon Temperly. "It should be a tournament style atmosphere and we will be hungry to see how much we have improved since Jan. 5. We have to put oursevles in postion to achieve some of our goals and now it is time to perform. Friday will be a lot of fun."
