Game one went to Benton 25-21 with some very good volleyball being played.

Game two was at one point Seneca 22-6 over Benton. The Seneca girls were powerhouse hitting and blocking and controlling the net, while the Indian defense was shutting out any hits Benton was trying to put down.  Game 2 ended up with Seneca winning 25-13.

In game three there was a cap at 17. It  was a back-and-forth battle defensively by both teams. In the end, Benton was able to come out on top 17-16.

“Credit should go to both teams for wanting the win and playing their hearts out,” Seneca coach Dawn Ray said wheh it was over.

Complete statistics for Seneca were not available, but coach Ray noted Liv Swanson came up with 51 kills for the day, while Emily Garfoot had 18 kills, and Haley Wall and Erin Sime each had 16 kills for the day.  Garfoot also came up with 94 assists.

Behind the line Haley Wall led the team with 46 serves and 12 aces, Alivia Salinas had 49 serves and 10 aces, Makenna Greene had 28 serves, Garfoot had 32 serves 9 aces.

“This was a well-fought game by both teams and an exciting championship for the 36th Annual Seneca Classic,” Ray said.
