The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association has recognized Benton/Scales Mound with its prestigious Academic All-State Award.  In order to qualify for this inaugural award, a football team must have a minimum of five seniors with a combined GPA of 3.33 or higher.

There are 450 high schools in Wisconsin with a football team; however, only 25 high school football teams across the State were recognized for the Academic All-State Award and only four at the Division 7 level.

Not only was Benton/Scales Mound the only team in the conference to earn this award, it was the only football team of any size to earn Academic All-State recognition in the area with the next closest team being Madison Edgewood. In addition, no other public high school team in the state at the Division 7 level had a higher GPA among its senior football players than Benton / Scales Mound this past season.

Congratulations to Benton Scales Mound seniors Tyler Hilby, Harrison Jakel, Jack Korte, Jalen Phillips, Kyle Pulvermacher, Kyle Wienen and Alex Wright for their academic excellence in earning this award with special recognition to Phillips and Pulvermacher for making the Academic All-State Team as individuals with a GPA of 3.75 or higher.
