Arrows are state champs in golf

The Flying Arrows show off their WIAA D3 State Championship Trophy June 11 at University Ridge Golf Course.

The Lancaster Golf Team collected the 2014 D3 State Championship trophy at the state finals at University Ridge Tuesday.

Already up eight strokes after the first day, the Arrows finished the second round with seven few strokes than the first day, and won the team championship with a 23-stroke lead over Osseo-Fairchild.

Individually, Zach Hentrich finished second overall, seven strokes behind leader Thomas Longbella from McDonnell Central. Andrew Gates, shooting a 77 in both rounds, finished tied for sixth.

Nathan Farrey made strides the second day, climbing from 16th to 11th. Josh Hentrich finished tied for 18th. Owen Hauth finished 48th....
