PLATTEVILLE — Participating in last Saturday’s Dick McKichan Invite, the Lancaster girls’ cross country team placed first of nine small school teams, while the boys came in third of 12 competing teams.

With a team score of 55, the Lancaster girls finished well ahead of second-place Albany, who finished with a score of 72. Darlington was third at 99, while Prairie du Chien was fifth at 141.

Leading Lancaster was freshman Lydia Murphy, whose time of 19:31 earned her second place among the small school runners.
