In July of 2025, Monroe County and their project partners Jewell Associates and Emmons & Olivier Re-sources (EOR) held a kick-off in Leon to launch their PROTECT Grant project. Their county had received a $506,000 ‘Promoting Resilient Operations for Trans-formative, Efficient, and Cost-saving Transportation’ (PROTECT) grant from the Federal Highway Administration.
