4-H visits state Capitol
Captital day
Six representatives from Grant County participated and met with Rep. Travis Tranel (RCuba City, front, right), including (front, from left) Ben Amend, Joy Bickford, (center) Sarah Hopkins, Cathy McPhail, (back) Ron Brisbois and Lena Frank.

On March 19, nearly 900 4-H representatives from across Wisconsin traveled to Madison to celebrate the centennial of Wisconsin 4-H. The celebration began with an assembly where participants sang 4-H songs and engaged with various speakers. After the assembly, participants prepared themselves for visits with legislators. The group met with Rep. Travis Tranel (R–Cuba City) and a staff member for Sen. Dale Schultz (R–Richland Center). The participants shared their 4-H experiences and promoted the 4-H youth development program to the legislative offices. The 4-H day at the Capitol was an opportunity for the Grant County 4-H program to celebrate and share its long-lasting impact with our elected officials.
