The recently opened Benvenuto’s Italian Grill in Platteville is helping future Platteville High School graduates by working with the PHS Scholarship Fund Advisory Board to offer gift cards that include a “no additional cost” component to fund scholarships.

“We are delighted to partner with the volunteers that established the PHS Scholarship Fund to help our local students achieve their post-secondary education dreams,” said Julie Klein, owner/operator of the new eatery,

The gift card program allows individuals/organizations/businesses to purchase gift cards for face value with 10 percent of the purchase price directed to the PHS Scholarship Fund. A $50 gift card purchase means the holder may make purchases in the restaurant totaling $50, with $5 of the original card purchase directed to the scholarship fund.

The Benvenuto’s gift card program is the second such program announced by the PHS Fund Advisory Board. The group has been offering Kwik Trip gift cards that benefit the PHS Scholarship Fund. Nearly $7,000 in scholarship monies were available for awards to the PHS Class of 2013 as a result of Kwik Trip gift card sales.

Both Benvenuto’s and Kwik Trip gift cards can also be purchased at Livingston State Bank on Platteville’s Main Street, at the Platteville Main Street Office, 20 S. 4th St., or from any PHS Scholarship Fund Advisory Board member.

The PHS Scholarship Fund was founded in 2010 by the Platteville Community Fund. The goal of the PHS Scholarship Fund is to give every deserving graduating senior pursuing post-secondary learning a scholarship. Both the Platteville Community Fund and the PHS Scholarship Fund are components of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt public charity.
