Board to be administrator
Steve Board, shown conferring with board member Lacy Sebranek, has been chosen the Richland School District’s Administrator

The Richland School District Board of Education has opted to remove the tag of interim from the position of district administrator.

In an announcement Saturday, the school board has named Steve Board as the district’s new district administrator officially as of July 1, 2023, ending the search for the permanent successor to Jarred Burke who accepted the job of district administrator of the Watertown School District last July.

Board, the district’s business official, has been the district’s interim administrator and business official, in recent months. The annoucement came without any indication whether he would continue to serve the district in a dual capacity or when the search for a new business official will be undertaken.

Board has been part of the district for 28 years as a coach, classroom teacher, building administrator and business official. He holds an administrator’s license under the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

The announcement said, “The Board of Education is fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to consider several outstanding candidates for the position and wants to publicly extend its appreciation to our finalists, the interview committee members and all of the candidates who took an interest in serviing our district.”
