Corn for scholarships
DSCN2777.JPG

Sheila and Myron Tranel (right two) deliver their 3rd truckload of corn to continue funding their Tranel Family Endowed Scholarship. Also pictured is truck driver Ron Wedig (in cab) and Sheila Kelley, president of the PHS Scholarship Fund. The Tranels intend to continue this donation annually so that the proceeds will eventually support $1,000 scholarship per year for the student recipient. “The number of family named endowments have doubled over the last three years thanks to many families like the Tranels,” said Kelley. “Three years ago, the average annual local scholarships received by a PHS graduate was $1,004. Now the average is $1,800 and will continue to grow with more families adding endowments to pay forward for their good fortune and give back to our youth.”
