Driftless Film Festival this weekend

The 2013 Driftless Film Festival will be held at six southwest and southern Wisconsin theaters, including Avalon Cinema in downtown Platteville.

The festival will begin with “Of Some Fair Place” and the short film “While It Lasts” at the Mineral Point Opera House today at 7 p.m.

The festival schedule at the Avalon:

Friday: Pints and Pins with the short film “Potosi: The Good Old Days Are Back,” 7 p.m.

Saturday: “The Pledge,” 11 a.m.; “We Will Be Back: The Lake Delhi Story” and short film “Dammed,” 1 p.m.; “Betting the Farm,” 3 p.m.; “Maidentrip,” 5 p.m.; “Black Web,” 7 p.m.

Sunday: “Down by the River,” 1 p.m.; “Fight Like Soldiers, Die Like Children,” 3 p.m.; “Running Wild,” 5 p.m.; “Northern Light,” 7 p.m.

Monday: “Not Yet Begun to Fight” and short film “Running Blind,” 7 p.m.

Tuesday: “The Moo Man,” 7 p.m.

Wednesday: “American Commune,” 7 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 14: “The Life and Times of Doris Payne” and short film “While It Lasts,” 7 p.m.

Other venues are the Gard Theater in Spring Green, the Blaine Theater in Boscobel, and the Grantland Theatre in Lancaster.
