History comes to Lyceum life On Sunday Dr. Eugene Tesdahl of the UWPlatteville History Department talked about his research and planning for a canoe trip in 2013, recreating a trip taken in 1805 between fur trade posts in northern Wisconsin. Tesdahl and two friends paddled their birchbark canoe dressed in reproduction clothing and carrying historically accurate foods and equipment. The Rollo Jamison Museum hosted Winter Lyceum events on Sunday nights.
