Rural Westby woman injured in rollover accident

A rural Westby woman was taken to a local hospital Dec. 28 following a one-vehicle rollover crash in Webster township south of Bloomingdale.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, Tammy Beranek, 53, of rural Westby, was southbound on Co.  Hwy. S at approximately 2:10 p.m. when she crossed the centerline onto the gravel shoulder and down over an embankment.  The vehicle then overturned and came to rest.

Beranek, who was using a seatbelt, was transported to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua by LaFarge Ambulance.

Also assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene was the  LaFarge Fire Department.

The accident remains under investigation.
