The City Service Brewery

DARLINGTON – It has been a while since anything was in the old service station on Main Street in Darlington until the building caught the eye of local Ted Thuli who knew he didn’t want it to go to waste. With the help of his wife, Angie, and friends Dick and Jody Tuescher, they all started on an adventure now know as City Service Brewing.
Ted purchased the building in the fall of 2016 and asked Dick if he would like to start a brewpub. Dick started home brewing about nine years ago after Jody purchased him a Mr. Beer beer making kit.
“And that was all she wrote,” Jody joked. Dick has been perfecting his brew and hopes to be selling his craft beer later this year.
The building has a lot of character that grabs one attention when walking into the door. The rooms are all decorated with Ted’s collection of car memorabilia he has been collecting since high school, and it is all for sale. Along with the cold brews being sold at night, Ted will be selling antiques and collectables out of part of the building. That allows the décor to change and be switched up. In the morning, Angie will sell coffee, teas, scones and other sweet breakfast treats to anyone who may want a pick-me-up. The Thuli’s moved their ‘Cheese n’ Beans’ business up to City Service Brewing to allow the Thuli Creamery more space to make cheese and other dairy products in their previous location.
Along with Wisconsin Craft Beers, they will be reintroducing Badger State Mineral Water, which was once made and sold in Darlington. Ted purchased the domain name for the drink and they will be selling root beer, strawberry and cream soda, all under that name.
They are all looking forward to this great adventure and being a destination spot in Darlington.
