Two hurt in Hwy. 35 crash in Bergen township

Two Wauzeka residents were injured Jan. 8 in a one-vehicle crash on Hwy. 35 in Bergen township.

According to  the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua,  at approximately 10:33 a.m., Verna Finney, 83, lost control of the vehicle she was operating on a snow-covered highway north of Spring Coulee Road.

Her vehicle left the road and went down an embankment. It  overturned once and came to a stop on its wheels at the bottom of the embankment.

Finney and a passenger, Gaylen Finney, 88, were treated by Tri-State Ambulance at the scene for minor injuries. Both occupants wore seat belts.

Also assisting at the scene was the Stoddard Fire Department, and Stoddard First Responders.
