Bill Berget, age 74 of rural South Wayne, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1943 in Monroe, the son of Earl and Leona (Steele) Berget. Bill grew up in Darlington and graduated from Darlington High School in 1961. He was married to Mary Beth Chambers. She preceded him in death. He later married Maribel Rensberry on Aug. 10, 1989 at Darlington United Methodist Church. He worked for General Motors for thirty years. Bill and Maribel lived in Argyle, for a few years before moving to rural South Wayne where they have resided since.
Bill is survived by two sons: Tom (Karen) Berget of Oshkosh and Tim Berget of Oconomowoc; two step-daughters: Lora Guyott of Janesville and Patti (Jeff) Anderson of rural South Wayne; two grandchildren: Jordan Murphy and Brooke Studnicki; six siblings: Shirley Canon, Wayne (Carla) Berget, Nancy Severson, Sherry Ray, Daryl Berget and Bob (Elsie) Berget. He was preceded in death by his parents; one step-son: Allen Guyott; one sister: Judy Severson and four brothers-in-law: Milford Severson, Virgil Severson, Gordon Canon and Jim Ray; and one sister-in-law: Sharon Berget.
Bill loved spending time with his family, fishing up north, hunting on his property, and traveling around the United States and abroad.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at noon on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at Legion Park in Argyle.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bill’s name.
