“Nekoosa will be a very good match up for us,” said Lancaster head coach John Hoch. “They have an outstanding running back, so we’ll have our hands full there. They run the Wing-T, play hard-nosed defense and make the other team makes mistakes so that they can beat you.”
The Papermakers come to Lancaster with a 3-0 record and are fresh off a 29-17 victory over River Valley.
In their first three games of the season, Nekoosa has scored an average of 41.3 points per game, while giving up an average of 14.6.
Their top rusher, senior Austin Kukulka (5’11”, 190) averages 10.6 yards per carry and has scored five TDs this season. Last year as a junior he ran for 1,813 yards and 31 touchdowns on 247 attempts, and as a sophomore managed 1,453 yards and 14 TDs.
