Girls finish sixth at Cashton Invitational
Tigers also compete at Boscobel Relays

CASHTON — The Hillsboro track and field teams traveled to the Cashton Invitational on Saturday.

The Lady Tigers scored 47 team points and placed sixth out of 11 teams, while the Hillsboro boys scored 30 points and finished ninth out of 12 teams.

Brookwood swept both team titles.

Hillsboro’s 4x800 relay team of Shauna Parish, Michaela Bach, Lydia Benish and Annie Haas won a gold medal with a winning time of 11:28.22.

The quartet of Belinda Griffin, Bach, Kailey Preuss and Ida Schuett won a bronze medal in the 4x200 relay (2:06.91).
Griffin also finished fourth in the 200 (30.03) and sixth in the 100 (14.16).

Parish placed fourth in the 1,600 (6:49.89).

Zach O’Hair led the boys’ top performers, winning a bronze medal in the 3,200 with a time of 11:38.89.

The quartet of Riley Boldon, Justin Muller, Adrian Marquez and Preston Kaus also finished third in the 4x100 relay (42.01).

Tigers place sixth at Bulldog Relays

On Monday, the Hillsboro track team competed in the Boscobel Bulldog Relays, a unique relay only meet.

Even the field events are relays where teammates distances or heights are added together to determine event winners.

The Hillsboro girls scored 31 points to finish sixth out of 11 teams.

The Tiger boys scored 37 points and also placed sixth.

Benton/Scales Mound won team titles at the Bulldog Relays.

Bach, Haas, Benish and Adriana Reese finished third in the 4x1,600 relay in 26:49.71 to lead the Hillsboro girls.

Boldon, Muller, Marquez and Kaus placed third in both the 4x200 relay (1:48.90) and the sprint medley relay (1:54.25) to lead the Hillsboro boys.

Hillsboro traveled to the Necedah Invitational this past Tuesday and will compete at the Royall Quadrangular. The Tigers will travel to the Bangor Invitational on Tuesday.
