Hillsboro hangs on to beat Seneca boys

SENECA - The Seneca boys basketball team traveled to Hillsboro last Saturday and gave the Tigers all they could handle before losing by just two points 51-49.

The Tigers started well and led the Indians 24-19 at halftime. Seneca outscored Hillsboro in the second half 30-27, but fell two points short of winning.

Seneca’s sophomore guard Ashton Swanson led all scorers with 21 points including two three-pointers.  He also grabbed five rebounds

Senior forward Kolton Chambers scored 12 points including two three-pointers and was four-for-four from the free throw line. He also had five steals. 

Kadin Wallin scored seven points and had six rebounds. Rounding out the scoring for Seneca were Evan Payne with four points, five assists and seven steals; Lucas Kilburg with three points on a three-pointer; and Nate Klema, who scored two points and had six deflections.
