SENECA - The Seneca boys basketball team got back on track with a 48-24 win over the visiting Ithaca Bulldogs on Friday, Dec. 18.

The game was hung up in a 13-13 tie for a while in the first half. Then,  the Indians went on an eight-point run to make it 21-13 a halftime.

Seneca continued to expand on that lead in the second half. 

The Indians were 9-17 at the free throw line and converted on one three-pointer. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs did not have a single free throw attempt in the entire game. However, Ithaca did hit four three-pointers.

Seneca junior Ashton Swanson led all scorers with 15 points, while teammate Evan Payne had 10 points and Kadin Wallin  scored eight. Rounding out the balanced scoring attack for Seneca were: Shawn Kirchhoff-six points, Joey Oppriecht-four points, Tyson Sparks-three points and Brennan Wallin-two points.

Seneca is scheduled to the play Wauzeka-Steuben, the defending conference champ on Tuesday, Dec. 29 in Wauzeka. The Hornets are undefeated so far in the Ridge and Valley Conference. However, they did lose a non-conference game to Boscobel 50-33 on Monday, Monday, Dec. 7.
