North Crawford/Seneca wrestlers enjoy Bi-State

NORTH CRAWFORD/SENECA - On Friday, December 27, the North Crawford-Seneca Wrestling Team traveled to the LaCrosse Center to wrestle in the annual Bi-State Classic. This tournament hosted over 70 teams from Minnesota and Wisconsin.

North Crawford-Seneca had five wrestlers in action at the tournament. Four wrestlers: Hemi Steele (113), Austin Puckett-Stanely (120), Ben Benson (182), and Cameron Johnson (285) competed at the tournament for the first time, while sophomore Beau Jenlinek (132) took part in his second Bi-State Classic.  

The young team had some struggles. However, juniors Ben Benson and Cameron Johnson continued to wrestle well and advanced to the second session of the tournament. Both finished the weekend with a 2-2 record, and Cameron added another pin for the team, bringing the season total to 13.

The varsity NCS wrestling team travels to Kickapoo High School on Saturday, Jan. 10 for the Lee Griffin Invitational. Wrestling will begin at 10 to 10:30am. 

The team will then travel to Necedah for a dual with Ithaca/Weston and Necedah on January 14 with wrestling beginning at 5:30 p.m.
