Christa Harrison and Paul Heupel were united in marriage on Saturday, September 10 at the Van Dusen Mansion Courtyard Garden in Minneapolis, Minn. at 4:30 p.m.  Officiating was Christa’s uncle the Rev. Les Nelson of Libby, Mon.  The area was decorated with purple hydrangeas and white Chinese lanterns hanging on stringed lights above the guests’ chairs.
The bride’s parents are Jane and Maynard Harrison of Platteville.  Parents of the groom are Karene and Gene Heupel of Maple Grove, Minn.  The Maid of Honor was Megan Anderson, friend of the bride who introduced the couple in 2004.  Best Man was Ben Heupel, brother of the groom.  Bridesmaids were Jamie Nagel, Rachel Kelley and Christie Rossow, friends of the bride. Groomsmen were Mark Heupel, brother of the groom, Ben Evjen and Matt Polski, friends of the groom.  Christa’s brothers, Derrik and Mitchell Harrison ushered.  The flower girl was Lexi Harrison, niece of the bride.  Local Christian musicians provided praise and worship acoustic guitar and keyboard music for the ceremony.
The bride wore a strapless sweetheart neckline gown of satin and lace with delicate beading on the skirt and chapel train.  Her hair was pulled to the side with long curls draping her left shoulder.  She carried a bouquet of purple lisianthus, freesia and delphinium, pink roses and green hydrangeas.
The bridesmaids wore satin purple cocktail length dresses with a sweetheart neckline and wide straps that crisscrossed in the back.  Each bridesmaid bouquet was unique as each was an arrangement of one selected purple flower from the bride’s bouquet mixed with green hydrangeas.
Following the ceremony, a cocktail hour was held in the Van Dusen Mansion and on the front veranda with a view of downtown Minneapolis.  Dinner followed in the Event Center catered by Mintahoe.  The dance was held in the two-level carriage house on the property, still ordained with the original stain glass windows from 1892 and a balcony with a brass railing overlooking the dance floor.  The evening ended with a sparkler arch for the bride and groom as they retired to the master suite in the mansion.
The couple spent their honeymoon on Santorini and Mykonos in the Greek Islands.
