Amber Rose Morrissey and Michael Joseph Backus were united in marriage on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City. Father David Flanagan presided. A reception was held following the ceremony at the Holiday Gardens Event Center in Potosi.
The bride is the daughter of Timothy and Cynthia Morrissey of Cuba City. The groom is the son of Charles and Barbara Backus of Manitowoc.
Matron of honor was Ashley Maring, sister of the bride. Maid of honor was Brianna Morrissey, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Paula Cayemberg, sister of the groom; Katie Wallander, sister of the groom; Nicole Klar, cousin of the bride; and Emily Kaiser, friend of the bride. Flower girl was Kaiyana Dennis, cousin of the bride. Personal attendants were Andrea Backus, sister-in-law of the groom; and Kimberly Kosloski, friend of the bride.
Best man was Dan Backus, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Shane Morrissey, brother of the bride; Eric Cayemberg, brother-in-law of the groom; and Justin Stuckmann, Jim Hackmann and Tony Schrank, all friends of the groom. Ushers were Kyle Maring, brother-in-law of the bride; and Zach Wallander, brother-in-law of the groom.
Amber is a graduate of Cuba City High School and UW-Madison, and is communications coordinator for the Diocese of Green Bay. Michael is a graduate of Lincoln High School and UW-Platteville, and is a mechanical engineer for Kewaunee Power Station.
The couple resides in Manitowoc and will go on a honeymoon to Puerto Vallarta over New Year's.
