Alcohol involved in one-vehicle rollover near Stoddard

Two Vernon County men were injured in a one-vehicle rollover crash Aug. 17 in Bergen township.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Aaron Pilger, 30, Coon Valley, was driving east on Hwy. 162 at approximately 7:21 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle on a corner near Hunder Coulee Road, east of Stoddard. The vehicle rolled over into a ditch and came to rest 20 feet off the road.

Pilger and his passenger, Dean Young, 34, Viroqua, both suffered injuries. Both men were wearing seatbelts.

Alcohol was involved in the accident, according to the sheriff’s department.

Assisting at the scene were the Stoddard-Bergen Fire Department, Stoddard First Responders and Tri-State Ambulance.

The accident remains under investigation.
