Driftless Brewing Company relocates to Soldiers Grove

Driftless Brewing Company, LLC (DBC) moved to its new location on 102 E Sunbeam Blvd. in Soldiers Grove, the former grocery store on Monday, March 3, 2014.

DBC is a local craft brewery now in its second licensed year of business that is currently in an expansion phase to a 15 BBL brewery. Driftless Brewing Company is dedicated to hand crafting, profitably selling premium ales and lagers and is committed to using the finest locally and regionally sourced ingredients. The co-owners are Chris Balistreri, the brewer and Michael Varnes-Epstein, both of rural Gays Mills.

In Phase I of the brewery expansion, Driftless Brewing Company will be purchasing a smaller 1 BBL (31 gallon) pilot system to continue brewing, while obtaining the financing for the larger 15 BBL system (465 gallon) in the coming months.

Phase II will include the build-out and purchase of the larger 15 BBL system. This expansion has been helped by the $30,000 loan from the Soldiers Grove Community Development Corporation approved earlier in 2013.

DBC beers have been available since 2013 in a variety of local outlets including the Old Oak Inn, Campbell’s Mobil One-Stop, Kickapoo Exchange Natural Foods Co-op, Viroqua Food Co-op, Driftless Café, and Rooted Spoon Culinary.

Some of the local favorite DBC brews include the Local Buzz Honey Ale, DiRT Brown Ale, Kick-Axe Pale Ale and Hop Goddess IPA.

With the completed expansion to the 15 BBL system, DBC will be serving additional outlets locally and other outlets in LaCrosse and Madison later in 2014 and 2015.

Driftless Brewing Company will be one of the featured brewers at the upcoming Capital Brewery’s Starkbierfest on Saturday, March 15 in Madison.
