WKOW TV, Ch. 27, Madison, will begin carrying a new network called Decades Sept. 2 on Community Antenna System channel 13 and Hillsboro Telephone Company digital channel 18, replacing This TV.

Decades, which launched nationally May 25, will highlight a different year, day, event or trend each day. Content includes classic television sitcoms, drama series and feature films from the 1950s through the 1980s, along with historical news and documentary programming.

The weekday historical theme blocks are completed with “Through the Decades,” an hour-long program hosted and narrated by former CBS News anchor Bill Kurtis that explores events and news from a day or period in history, using archival footage.

Saturdays and Sundays will feature continuous episodes of classic TV series.

Through its ownership by Weigel Bradcasting of Chicago, Decades is a sister network to Me-TV, which also focuses on classic television series from the 1950s to the 1980s and carries programming from Decades corporate cousin CBS Television Distribution.
