2 arrested for throwing water balloons at cars

Two 18-year-olds were arrested for allegedly throwing water balloons at cars on Wisconsin 11 May 21.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Department began receiving 911 calls of vehicles being damaged by items thrown from a passing vehicle on 11 between U.S. 151 and Hazel Green around 11:25 a.m.

Drivers of two passenger vehicles and a tractor–trailer reported getting cracked windshields. Several pedestrians also reported having objects thrown at them, although none were hit, according to the sheriff’s department.

Charges of criminal damage to property and recklessly endangering safety are pending against Tyler C. Timmerman of Hazel Green and Michael J.T. Fitzgerald of Shullsburg. The sheriff’s department determined the two had thrown more than 80 water balloons at vehicles or pedestrians.

The sheriff’s department is looking for additional people who may have had their vehicles hit by a water balloon on 11 May 21 between 11 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. Those who did are asked to call the sheriff’s department, 723-2157.
