Man arrested twice within two weeks
Two felonies, four misdemeanors filed

A 25-year-old Platteville man was arrested twice within two weeks.

Julius Raymone Schaeffer, 205 E. Cedar St. apartment 3, faces two counts of party to theft of up to $2,500 and charges of battery, party to burglary, disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping.

Schaeffer was first arrested May 15 on the burglary and theft charges as a repeater for crimes alleged to have taken place May 2.

A preliminary hearing on those charges is set for Grant County Circuit Court in Lancaster Thursday at 8:30 a.m.

Then, on May 28, police went to 205 E. Cedar St. apartment 3 after two 911 hangup calls in which police heard nothing but screaming.

Schaeffer was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery and felony bail jumping. He will be arraigned on those charges Thursday morning.

Schaeffer faces maximum sentences of 18½ years in prison and a $25,000 fine on the burglary charge.
