Morgan Slaight, who was shot along with her two sons in their Montfort home earlier this month, died Tuesday morning at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison.
Authorities responded to 305 East Main Street in the Village of Montfort on Friday afternoon, Jan. 2 after being notified of possible gunshot victims at the home.
Jaxon Slaight, 6, was pronounced dead at the scene. Joseph Slaight, 8, and Morgan, 27, were transported by Med Flight helicopter to UW Hopsital and Clinics from Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. Joseph and Morgan were reportedly in critical but stable condition since.
“The sheriff’s office continues to investigate this matter and has made no determination as to what occurred in Montfort on Jan. 2,” Grant County Sheriff Nate Dreckman said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. “The investigators continue following up on leads and await the processing of some evidence.”
