PLATTEVILLE — Drunk driving and underage drinking charges were issued after a traffic stop in Platteville Saturday night.

Police stopped a car driven by Garrett W. Smart, 19, Mineral Point, on Southwest Road and Chestnut Street around 11:40 p.m., without headlights, according to police.

Smart was picked up on a warrant, and was charged with operating while intoxicated, resisting or obstructing an officer, violation of driver absolute sobriety, and operating after suspension.

Smart’s passengers, Bridget Mary Hughes, 19, Dixon, Ill., and Jacob W. Deklerk, 18, Minooka, Ill., were both ticketed for underage drinking.

•    Two people were injured after a crash at Adams Street and Lancaster Street Thursday afternoon.

Two people were taken to Southwest Health Center in Platteville by Platteville EMS after the crash at 1:40 p.m., according to police.

Alyssa M. Naeve, 18, Savanna, Ill., was ticketed for failure to keep control of a vehicle.
