Three individuals were arrested in connection with a retail theft case that the Darlington Police Department (DPD) is investigating.
On Wednesday, July 23, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Darlington Police officers were dispatched to a report of a theft at the Darlington Mini Mart on Galena Street, said a press release from Darlington Police Chief Jason King.
It was learned that three subjects stole alcohol from the business and left the community. The Monroe Police Department later located the subjects after DPD put out an “attempt to locate” alert on the car and occupants, said the press release.
Monique Banks, age 34, Felicia Green, age 40, and Andrew Banks, age 33, all of Beloit, were arrested and returned to Darlington, along with their car, according to the press release.
From the car, officers recovered hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise that is believed to have been stolen from a number of different businesses in different communities, said the press release.
The matter remains under investigation, but according to King, it was learned that NAPA was also a victim in this case.
Monique Banks and Felicia Green have since been released from jail pending future court proceedings. Andrew Banks remains jailed on a Rock County warrant.
