BHS sends teams to FFA Career Development Contest

Belmont High School FFA members competed in the FFA District Career Development Contest.

Belmont had a Junior and Senior dairy team, an Ag Mechanics team, a Livestock team, a Horticulture team, a Wildlife team, and a single competitor in the Animal Vet Science area.

Holly Voigts, the only competitor in Animal Vet Science from Belmont in her category, placed 12th overall.

Three teams moved on to the state competition. The BHS Senior Dairy team placed third overall with Logan Voigts placing 10th, Jordyn Kamps placing 15th, and Brandi Voigts placing 17th.

The Ag Mechanics team placed 12th overall with Blake Miller placing 28th.

The final BHS state qualifier was the Livestock team of Jon Bahr, Allison Linneman, and John Hentrich, which placed 15th overall.

The State Judging Contest was held in Madison on Friday.
