Platteville High School Senior Student Council members have been busy finalizing plans for Homecoming 2012.

Homecoming week Oct. 1–6 kicks off with a bonfire on Monday, October 1 in the high school back parking lot.  Homecoming court will be announced and the bonfire will be lighted at 8 p.m.

The theme for the 2012 Homecoming Week is “Superheroes.” During each day of Homecoming week, students will be dressing in different costumes competing to earn points for the most spirited class. The spirit days are Skittles Day Monday, Superhero Day Tuesday, PJ/Toga Day Wednesday, Dynamic Duo Day Thursday and Hillmen Spirit Day Friday.

A pep rally will be held Friday, Oct. 5, with games and activities to help each class earn spirit points. Members of the fall sports and activities will be introduced.

Following the pep rally will be the first PHS Homecoming Parade on Main Street at 1:30 p.m. The parade route begins at City Park and follows Main Street to Water Street.

All students and staff of the school district will attend the parade. There will be parade entries from every school building. The high school will have entries from fall sports and school activities.

The Homecoming court will be introduced at the football game against  Richland Center during halftime.

Homecoming festivities will conclude with the Homecoming Dance in the PHS north gym Saturday, Oct. 6 from 7:30 to 11 p.m., with king and queen coronation at 10 p.m.

Cost of admission at the door will be $8. Tickets may be purchased the week of the dance for $7.
Students are asked to park in the back parking lot. The front doors will not be open.

Community members attending coronation are asked to please park in the front parking lot. Admission is free, but a $1 donation for the Platteville Food Pantry would be appreciated. The front doors for community members attending coronation will open at 9:45 p.m.
