Platteville schools 18th in state

Platteville Public Schools ranks 18th among the state’s more than 400 school districts in an online comparison.

Niche ranked Platteville 18th based on grades of A in academics and teachers; B-plus scores in health and safety, extracurriculars and activities, and sports and fitness; B in student culture and diversity; and B-minus in resources and facilities.

The grades are based on statistics and student, alumni and parent surveys, according to the Niche website.

The closest ranked school district west of metro Madison and south of La Crosse was Viroqua, ranked 45th.
River Valley was ranked 49th, Benton was ranked 57th, Darlington was ranked 63rd, Dodgeville was ranked 81st, and Pecatonica was ranked 91st.

The Iowa–Grant School District ranked 186th, Potosi ranked 194th, and Belmont ranked 208th,

Niche previously ranked Platteville High School 31st among the state’s 511 public high schools. Niche also ranks Platteville Middle School 21st among the state’s middle schools.
