Crescent City Amusements of Slidell, LA is coming to the Hillsboro Firemen’s Labor Day Celebration Sept. 4-7.

Park and Hall Board President Mike Clark is excited about the new amusements.  “This is a top notch outfit that is run professionally,” he said.

Both the carnival and the rides will be new and colorful, as well as the concession stands.

The newest sensation is called “Knockerball.” The Fire Department has purchased 12 durable inflatable bubbles which, when worn, make people feel weightless.

“When several people are running around in Knockerballs, it turns into some big time laughter,” Clark said.

Fairgoers can ride  free all day and night with one price admission.

Returning events include lawn mower races, a garden tractor pull, and a craft fair.

Food will be available, including hamburgers, barbecued chicken and pies.

The Freezers and Diamond & Steel will provide live music Sept. 5 and 6, respectively.

The Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital Fun Run/Walk will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 5. The Hillsboro Lions Club will host Bingo at 1 p.m. Sept. 6. The annual parade will start at 10:30 a.m Sept. 7 down Water Ave. to Firemen’s Park.
