April 12  brings The Johnny Mercer Songbook to the stage of Viroqua’s Historic Temple Theatre at 7:30 p.m.

The Johnny Mercer Songbook is an intimate introspective on the works of the greatest lyricist of American popular music.  Through his songs, we’ll travel Mercer’s luminous path from Savannah, Georgia, to New York City to Hollywood.  Twin Cities crooner Arne Fogel brings authentic richness to the music, while nationally-recognized vocalists Maud Hixson and Sheridan Zuther pour their talents into tunes such as “One for My Baby,” “Charade,” “Midnight Sun,” and many more...all backed by Rick Carlson and his top-notch jazz trio.

This show is the last in the Temple Theatre’s 2013-2014 Season Series.  Sponsorship is provided by Jenkins and Stittleburg Attorneys-at-Law, Madison Gas and Electric, Vernon Telephone--Vernon Communications, and WCCU.

Buy tickets in Viroqua at Bramble Books, Citizens First Bank, Nelson Agri-Center, or Viroqua Bank.  In Westby, tickets are on sale at Ole & Lena’s Kaffe Hus.  Mail order tickets are available by calling 608-606-2340.  Tickets may also be purchased the day of the show in the theatre lobby, beginning at 6:30 p.m.  General admission is $24.
