The towers installed when WPVL (1590 AM) went on the air in 1955, and when WPVL went to 24-hour broadcasting in 1961, came down the morning of Jan. 14. The former WPVL property will be used for affordable housing. WPVL has been broadcasting from a new tower north of Platteville since earlier this month.
